Asus 1215B Netbook Reviews

Asus 1215B netbook with AMD platform Seashell brazzo using the same design with its predecessor (1215T/1215N) so that the design flaws that cause the hdd is not / hard to replace itself without dismantling the total units are still there. This model is available in 3 colors are: black (glossy / matte), red (+ glossy matte), and silver (matte). unfortunately limited the use of matte plastic on: cover and wrist / touch-pad area, the black part around the keyboard and the screen is still a glossy plastic that easily scratches, dust and fingerprint magnet.

Buildwise quite sturdy, although only made of plastic. Chicklet keyboard is quite comfortable to use for typing in a long time. Touchpad is used has been supports multi touch / gesture so that it can add value to the already accustomed to using it. Unfortunately the left & right click buttons on the touch pad is quite loud and noisy. The power button, power management shortcut keys, and shortcut key management & wireless blutooth very early on was hard and stiff when pressed, but after some time will normally use.
Port / output yangg provided complete enough for a netbook plus 3 USB ports can be used to transfer large files faster than usb 2. Adapter that is included is quite small-sized charger hp, making it easier to carry around.

Display panels using a glossy 12.1 "1366x768 @ 60Hz. With a brightness setting of 50% quite comfortably used indoors as long as no light who bounces on the screen. Gradations of color tend to be pale.

For the office can be used to smooth and quite comfortable with the screen size 12.1 "with HD resolution. For multimedia, HD movies can play full HD files smoothly by using MPC-HC plus with hdmi port can be used to output full HD movies sound +5.1 to other HT devices. For the music needed headphones for better results krn speaker volume can not sing too big. For gaming can only run the game lightly with low-medium detail at a resolution of 800x600, 1366x768.

Airflow unit takes in air from the front-bottom of the netbook, its right in the grille in the middle just below the ram slots are open. Then with the help of the air fan thrown out with the side that has a fan grille. Wrist-touch pad area is quite cool after the torture test. The area that was hot was in the bottom of the ram hatch, especially in the area and more heat to the air exhaust grilles on the side so it is not advisable to put a netbook on the thigh when in operation. During the idle test-movies fan is quite silent, but after a 5-minute torture test new fan noise audible. Looks like Asus is more silent than a cool pick.

For browsing and office with lvl 50% brightness, a usb mouse dongle, wifi: on, and blutooth: off the battery can last about 6 hours. To play movies with full-hd-hd mpc, brightness lvl 50%, 1 usb mouse dongle, wifi: on, and blutooth: off the battery can last about 3 hours. To be able to run 1080p movies. In order to batteries last longer able to do: set the screen brightness to minimum, turn off the screen (output to external display via the vga / hdmi), turn off wifi / bluetooth / speaker / background task, and set the power scheme / eee hybird engine to power saver. Just make sure it is still within tolerable limits convenient to use.

Charging the battery from empty to full takes about 2-2.5 hours when the laptop is switched off or used for office, when in a state load (eq: benchmarking, watch a movie) then the time it needs charging about 4 jam.

Asus 1215B netbook prefer the PORTABILITY (small size and lightweight), BATTERY LIFE, and the price is more economical than performance. So without due respect for who looking for workstation performance CPU or GPU performance gaming to better find another model. Because only half the netbook CPU performance than normal notebook CPU / plain, while the GPU performance is only equivalent to the onboard solutions from AMD / Nvidia / Intel Sandy Bridge.
